IMPORTANT NOTE: if you've installed Cross Sell before February 2nd, 2018 you might have version1 of our app. In case you have version1 (you can verify this in our app's Account section), please follow these instructions to add Cross Sell v1 back onto your store's theme ->

-> Adding cross sells to your Product Page(s)

-> Adding cross sells to your Cart Page

STEP1 - HOW TO MAKE SHOW CROSS SELLS SHOW ON YOUR PRODUCT PAGES

  1. Go to the Themes area in your Shopify admin.

  2. Click on the Actions button and select Edit code from the drop-down.
  3. Look in the left hand side file list and find the Templates folder.

  4. Locate the product.liquid template file and note if its contents contains a "section" or a piece of code similar to {% section 'product-template' %}, IF it does not, then just paste the following code after the last closing </div> element, or just above the tag containing your theme's related items (usually something like {% if section.settings.related_products_enable %} :

    {% include 'cross-sell' %}

    If however, your product.liquid file contains a section, you'll have to navigate to the Sections folder and look for the matching file (in the example above it is named product-template.liquid.

    From there, just paste the snippet code {% include 'cross-sell' %} to where you want it to show on the product page.
    IMPORTANT NOTE:  if you've had customizations for your Cross Sell done before, your snippet code will most probably be {% include 'cross-sell-custom' %} -> A quick way to verify if your theme has had a Cross Sell customization done before, is to look for the file cross-sell-custom.liqud in your Snippets folder.

5. Don't forget to press Save!

STEP2 - HOW TO MAKE CROSS SELLS SHOW ON YOUR CART PAGE

If you would also like to add cross-sell items to your cart/basket page, then:
  1. Make sure your theme is set to use the cart type "page" and not "modal" or "drawer/slider". You can check this in Online Store -> Themes -> Customize -> Theme Settings -> Cart
  2. Locate the cart.liquid template in the Templates folder

  3. Take note if it contains a "section" or a piece of code similar to {% section 'cart-template' %}, IF it does not, then just paste the following code after the last closing </form> element:

    {% include 'cross-sell' %}

    If however, your cart.liquid file contains a section, you'll have to navigate to the Sections folder and look for the matching file (e.g. cart-template.liquid)

    From there, just paste the snippet code {% include 'cross-sell' %} to where you want it to show on the cart page (most often the last </form> element

  4. Don't forget to press Save!
